Creative direction

  • Midjourney for visual concepts and mood boards. I run most of my ideation here before touching Figma.
  • DALL·E 3 when I need something quick inside a ChatGPT conversation. Not my main tool, but saves time.
  • Adobe Firefly specifically for generative fill inside Photoshop. Good at extending backgrounds and fixing product shots.

Writing and content

  • Claude is where I do my long form writing and strategic thinking. It holds context well and doesn't fight my voice.
  • ChatGPT for quick brainstorms and loose first drafts. It's fast, not always deep.
  • Gemini when I need something tied to Google's ecosystem, research or data heavy tasks.
  • Perplexity for research I need to trust. It cites sources, which saves me from fact checking rabbit holes.

Coding

  • Cursor is my daily code editor. It's a VS Code fork with AI built in, and it understands multi file projects better than anything else I've tried.
  • Antigravity (Gemini CLI) for terminal based coding. This is what built this very website.
  • GitHub Copilot for inline autocomplete. Good at boilerplate, less useful for architecture decisions.

Dictation

  • Wispr Flow lets me talk instead of type, anywhere on Mac. I use it for first drafts, notes, and DM replies. It changed how I work more than most tools on this list.

Research

  • Perplexity Pro for deep research where I need sources I can verify.
  • NotebookLM when I want to upload a document and have a conversation about it.
  • Google Deep Research for multi step research that would take me hours to do manually.

SEO

  • Ubersuggest for keyword research and checking what competitors rank for.
  • Ahrefs when I need backlink data or a full site audit.
  • Google Search Console for tracking what's actually getting impressions and clicks.

Design

  • Figma for UI design, prototyping, and handing off specs.
  • Canva Pro when I need a social graphic or presentation fast and don't want to open Figma for it.
  • Framer for interactive web prototypes that need to feel real before I code them.

Productivity

  • Notion is my second brain. Projects, notes, client docs, SOPs, everything lives here.
  • Bitrix24 for CRM. Keeps client communication and pipeline in one place.
  • Loom for async video. I send Looms instead of scheduling 30 minute calls.
  • Slack for team conversations. Nothing fancy, it just works.

Web development

  • Astro for static sites. This site runs on it. Ships zero JavaScript by default, which keeps things fast.
  • Cloudflare Pages for hosting. Free, global CDN, deploys from GitHub automatically.
  • WordPress for client sites that need to be self managed after handoff.
